[Scene: Cafeteria]

[Kio's in the school cafeteria seated at a booth.  There are many plates and drink cups spread amongst his piles of book and papers.   He's obviously studying while eating]

[His roommate, Orien, slides into the seat across from him]

Ori: "Hey there, slugger.  I saw you and Lysithia walking back from the Quik-e Mart yesterday." [Wink]

Kio: "Don't you have homework to do?"

Ori: [While taking a fry from Kio's plate] "I'll do it tonight."

Kio: "And keep me up." [Dryly]

Nar/Kio: This is my roommate Orien, age 17.  He studies elemental magic.

Nar/Kio: Elemental magic has several forms, such as aero-elemental and aqua-elemental.

[Orien holding a flame in his cupped hand]

Nar/Kio: He's a pyro-elemental.

Ori: "So... are you two a thing or what?"

Kio: [Annoyed sigh] "..."

Ori: [Exasperated look to him] "Man, you've been chasing Lysithia since last year.  If Gigi were still here, you'd-"

Kio: [Cutting him off] "Shut up, Orien." [Not mean, more like he has a headache and Orien's chatter is making it worse]

Ori: "Yeah, okay man, I'm going." [Gets up]

Kio: "Do your homework!"

[Orien has his back to him waving in both parting and acknowledgment]

[Scene: Riona's room] 

[It's after class for Riona and Lysithia.  They have gone up to Riona's room to study.  Backpacks and books litter the floor and beds]

Lys: "Want to take a break and go to the Quik-e Mart?"

Rio: [Playful smile] "I'm actually studying and you want me to stop?"

Lys: [Nodding hopefully] "Yeah."

Rio: "We went yesterday..."

Lys: "I know, but-" [She stops herself] (Could have her covering her mouth of something to that effect).

Rio: "But?"

Lys: [Blushing] "Nevermind."
